Grisport New Zealand is proudly run by Kiwi brothers Ed and Martin Leenders, who share a passion for quality footwear that works as hard as Kiwis do. Together, they’ve built a strong network of knowledgeable distributors across the country, delivering Grisport footwear that combine comfort, style, and durability.

From alpine slopes to muddy bush blocks, factory floors to job sites, New Zealand conditions are unique and often unforgiving. Every boot in the Grisport collection is carefully selected and field-tested to ensure it performs where it matters most.

Ed Leenders has been at the heart of Bene Footwear since the beginning. As a proud Kiwi-owned business, Bene has represented Grisport in New Zealand since 2006, working to bring high-quality Italian footwear to local customers from all walks of life.
Ed and the team at Bene are passionate about Grisport’s proven comfort, performance, and award-winning design. Over the years, they’ve built strong relationships with retailers across the country and remain focused on delivering footwear that suits the way New Zealanders live, work, and explore. From safety and outdoor styles to everyday lifestyle footwear, Ed’s mission has always been simple, to offer footwear that performs in New Zealand’s unique conditions and helps people get out there and enjoy everything our country has to offer.

Martin Leenders

Director - Wholesale Boots NZ

Martin Leenders founded and leads Wholesale Boots NZ, a proudly Kiwi-owned company based in Pukekohe dedicated exclusively to safety footwear. With over 25 years of experience in sourcing, designing, and fitting safety footwear, Martin and his team bring experience and in-depth knowledge to the table. Wholesale Boots NZ is the joint exclusive distributor of Grisport Safety Footwear, working alongside a tight-knit team of trained “Boot Gurus” who understand the demands of Aotearoa’s people and worksites. Distributing Grisport safety footwear across the motu is a privilege and responsibility he is passionate about. Martin enjoys employing locals, keeping profits in New Zealand, and working with a dedicated network of switched on stockists.

Our Journey: Building Footwear That Can Keep Up With Kiwis

New Zealanders are known for their grit and resilience - problem solvers, adventurers, and workers who don’t shy away from hard conditions. But finding boots that truly hold up to these conditions isn’t easy.

From high humidity and heavy rainfall in some regions, to snow, alpine terrain, and dry rugged landscapes elsewhere, boots that work overseas often fail here. That’s why we began field testing every style ourselves, from muddy bush blocks in the North Island to wind blasted ridgelines in the South. If a boot doesn’t perform, it doesn’t make the cut.

Working closely with the factory in the foothills of Italy’s Dolomite mountains, we shaped a collection that combines Italian quality and comfort with Kiwi practicality. Some models are refined exclusively for New Zealand, based on feedback from tradespeople, hunters, and workers who wear them daily.
