The Grisport collection (pronounced Gree Sport) is proudly brought to you by 2 Kiwi brothers-Ed and Martin Leenders. We work together, through a network of switched on distributors throughout NZ. Grisports benchmark is comfort, along with affordability and style.
We Kiwis are so well travelled and also respected around the world for our ability to adapt, innovate and general physical toughness. We love a challenge, mental physical or whatever ! and often choose the path less travelled, because that’s in our DNA, while most of the world is careful to stay on the path, we are looking to be free and leave it, to cut our own track. Geographically, our climate is both varied and fairly unique.
Grisport NZ’s driving ambition is to strive to provide footwear that’s best suited for us, NZ conditions, our awesome Kiwi lifestyle. Field testing is an integral part of our selection process, it needs to perform in the field to make the range. These tests have taken us from the building site to the factory floor, to the glorious open South Island mountain high country to the wet canopied bush blocks in the central North Island… and everywhere in between.
Grisport Italy
Grisport Italy is located amongst the foothills of the mighty Dolomite mountain range bordering Italy, Switzerland and Austria. We work very closely with Italy to ensure that our unique Kiwi needs are met. Some of the styles have been designed together and are made exclusively for NZ, so we get the best of Italian flair & quality, with Kiwi designs !
Eco Sustainability: Grisport maintains the strictest standards for eco-sustainability, which is evidenced through their impressive solar energy photovoltaic energy system, on the factory and warehouse roofs, that cover 15,000 square meters and provide an impressive 70% of the factories total power requirement!

Our Philosophy

We love a challenge, mental or physical and will often take the path less travelled, just because we can! Geographically, our climate is fairly unique, with high humidity and rain fall, water, snow and mud, yet in other parts of our country it’s dry and arid. Grisport NZ’s driving ambition is to strive to provide footwear that is best suited for our NZ conditions and the Kiwi lifestyle.
Field trials are an important part of our selection process. If it doesn’t perform in the field it doesn’t make the range. Our footwear trials have taken us from the building site to the factory floor, from the glorious open South Island mountain high country to the wet canopied bush blocks in the North Island and everywhere in between.
The Grisport NZ collection is born on the foothills of the Dolomite mountains in Italy. With steep mountainous terrain and a climate that includes hot summers and significant rainfall and snow in winter. It is no co-incidence that it is right at home here in NZ. We work closely with the Italian factory to ensure that Kiwi styles and needs are met. Some of the styles we offer are also made exclusively for us Kiwis, giving us the best of both worlds – access to Italian flair and quality – designs specifically tailored for Kiwis.
